Of all the arts photography is perhaps the most representational. We trust photographs to record moments, places and people. Yet in much of Gillian Fletcher's work the art is pared back to its core: the capture of light. Context is stripped away. Sometimes, darkness reveals while light conceals... in Fletcher's silent, and beautiful, urban landscapes, the subject is the medium of light itself.
